From Start to Finish
She walks the glitzy guilded avenue.
Sauntering down her fate
She dreams of dreams so whimsical
Until she steps off the slate.
He skips to a tune of great trepidation
Running down the lighted lane
Engulfed in a crowd of passion
Until the game ends.
It claws a story of saddness
A voice hoarse and rash
It sheds a tear of happiness
Caught up in last night's mess.
They step towards the lighted prism
A path so blinding bright
Doors slowly closing in
And they wonder where their life has been.
I love the flashing mental image I get when reading this. I think of urban city life in the night, illuminated by bright neon colors from all directions. It's dazzling.
